A Look At Spring Practices

Determined Gus Malzahn is poised for another championship run.

Auburn is set to start spring practice on February 28th, 2017. All of the practice dates as reported by our good friends at SEC Country can be found HERE.

When they do, there is really only one question to answer: Who will be the starting QB?

I'll preface this with a note that the official Auburn Athletics website has not posted an updated roster at this time. Let us look at the competitors, shall we?

#1 Redshirt Freshman Woody Barrett 6' 2" 231 lbs.
#5 Senior John Franklin III 6' 1" 183 lbs.
#13 Junior Sean White 6' 0" 190 lbs.
#15 Redshirt Sophomore Tyler Queen 6' 1" 243 lbs.

The newest additions are not on the roster as of Feb. 14th. Jarrett Stidham, and Malik Willis are both early enrollees, and are already on campus. Stidham, and Willis are expected to participate in spring practices.

An interesting side note is a report by AL.com indicating Malik Willis will be working with a QB guru outside of the Auburn staff.
"Freshman early enrollee Malik Willis, a three-star dual-threat prospect out of Georgia, spent part of Sunday working with private quarterback coach Sean McEvoy."

As previously discussed here, I feel Jarrett Stidham and Woody Barrett will be the top two after spring. Tyler Queen is the unknown in this equation because of his lack of experience due to missing last season due to injury. Sean White, who we keep getting conflicting reports about his broken Arm and how it's healing, probably won't participate.

The annual A Day game will be on April 8th, 2017 at 1:00 pm.

Just for good measure, here is a look at the football schedule this fall.
