Getting To Know Tunde Fariyike

This week the Auburn coaching staff has decided to start Tunde Fariyike at center. The logical choice, considering that Fariyike has been the backup at that position since last season began. Tunde Fariyike wasn't a highly recruited athlete out of Upson-Lee High in Thomaston, GA. He was rated a two star athlete, and was among the lowest rated athletes Auburn signed in 2010.

While using the official Auburn football roster as a starting point we learned that Tunde was a redshirt
his first year on the Plains, and last season as a RS/Freshman he made the SEC All-Academic Team, while playing in all 13 games at Auburn on special teams.

Below we see video of his playing Days at Upson-Lee:

A few things to remember about Tunde Fariyike. One is he was the center for Kiehl Frazier most of last season during the entire fall camp and practices during the season. That should be a huge plus for both Frazier and Fariyike as they prepare this week for the season opener against Clemson.

Secondly that Fariyike is a well respected member of this team. The offensive linemen all agree that he is highly intelligent, and already knows how to read the defenses, and where everyone else along the front is supposed to attack during each play. I see this as a HUGE plus for Frazier as he starts his first ever game.

Below I will leave you with the interview with the media after Tunde Fariyike was tabbed to start against Clemson.
