Basketball Tigers: Island Edition

The Auburn Men's basketball team has been on the Bahama Island this week preparing for some practice games using international rules. In an article from the Official AU site Coach Barbee had this to say:

"The effect of the sun, the beach, the water, the waterslides, the jet skis - it has taken its toll on the guys but I thought the concentration level was better today. We were still a little too sloppy with the ball, we are just getting used to the international rules. I think the guys are thinking about it a little bit, but we are getting closer and we have to be closer tomorrow when we tee it up."

Barbee has even employed the help of a sports psychologist to the help the team. It seems to have helped. Gaining that elusive team chemistry that had been lacking at times the last few seasons on the Plains.

Many bright spots this off season include the rising play of Chris Griffin. Coach Barbee said this about the Junior from Tallahassee, Florida:  Chris Griffin has had  a tremendous start to camp this summer. He has great size, great presence, and unbelievable shooting ability at that position. He can spread the floor.

I would like to extend a special thanks to the guys at AuburnTigers.com and especially Charles Goldberg in helping with this special coverage of our guys.

War Eagle!
